Our book club formed in reaction to our mutual admiration of the BBCA 2006 Robin Hood series starring Jonas Armstrong as Robin Hood and Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne. Anyone is welcome to join our discussions.
Just wanted to post a BIG Happy Birthday to our darlin Jonas!
ReplyDeleteHappy number 29 Jonas. Hope there are many more and that your newly aquired fans via Robin Hood will get to even more of your career in the coming years!
Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to ya!
Pokeygirl
Yes, indeed, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONAS !!!
ReplyDeleteHi folks,
ReplyDeleteOur darlin one is indeed moving on with his career. He has a brand new shiny agent and may be up for a lead in a new "SyFy style" thriller action adventure series.
Also, he might in the running for a long form (the old term was "mini-series") about a modern day British legend and military hero. (The man was famous for his exploits during WWI in the Middle East.) An Oscar winning film was made about this fellow about 50 years ago and it was quite spectacular.
There might also be a romantic comedy in the offing too. (More on this when the FAP might care to share it with me. That's all for now.)
Personally, I would LOVE to see him do the romantic comedy. It would be a refreshing change to see him something where he gets the girl AND has a genuinely happy ending, no?
Pokeygirl
Thanks!!!! Keep us informed about the title and details as soon as you can. I don't go to BBCA anymore, so please post it here!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe'll just have to wait and see which way he goes. Like I say, he reminds me of Johnny Depp in the wide variation of characters he's done. He seems to LIKE going totally opposite directions for "a change" each time.
ReplyDeleteDuring one of his recent "spaces" between projects, he was quoted as thinking of returning to the theatre for awhile - "I haven't done that for 3 years" (at least !! it's more like 4, 5, or 6 years, I think)
But then things were offered, and started, though one got shelved, and the other was stopped midway through filming.
Thanks for the update! I would love to see Jonas in a romantic comedy where he gets the girl.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to keep up this end of the Book Club site:
ReplyDeleteJonas will begin filming "Field Of Blood" in Scotland in a few weeks. He joins a spectacular cast and will have a choice part in this production. It is filming for BBC One Scotland and I would certainly look for it to broadcast as part of The Masterpiece Mystery Series, (as was "Wallander"; its produced by the same company folks.
Pokeygirl
