Our book club formed in reaction to our mutual admiration of the BBCA 2006 Robin Hood series starring Jonas Armstrong as Robin Hood and Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne. Anyone is welcome to join our discussions.
Hi folks,
ReplyDeleteJust got an e-mail from Mike Odgen and the "Charlie" Film Project:
Apparently Richard will no longer be attached to the project.
This is NOT exactly a big surprise, here folks, but it does mean that RA will have much more time to devote to MI5/Spooks AND his treasured project: a film on the true history of
Richard III.
If you can sign on to the "Charlie" blog site at 10pm UK time, then Mike will let you know why.
Of course, I wish M. Ogden all good fortune with his project, and will not be too concerned about Richard as his "dance card" is filled to capacity even without "Charlie".
However, I am a bit disappointed that we won't be seeing him in a WWII setting and uniform. (Sighhh).

Thought I should update our Book Club site Re: our darlin Richard.
ReplyDeleteThis might a bit late in the posting, but of course, it DOES bare repeating;
Richard Armitage has been signed to portray the character of Thorin Oakenshield (leader of a tribe of dwarves); leader of the dwarves who accompany Gandolf the wizzard to the door of one Bilbo Baggins, looking for their personal property; a cauldron of gold being guarded by one dragon namely; Samaug.
Its a terrific role folks, and one that should propel him into the international spotlight and out of the relative annonimity of ITV, BBC, BBCA productions. He begins filming in February of 2011, in New Zealand with Peter Jackson at the helm.
The first of the two films planned will be released in the fall/winter of 2012, the second in the Spring/Summer of 2013.
All in all, a WONDERFUL opportunity for Richard!
